Dragnet - Dragnet Reigns! LP

It’s been a while since the last transmission from Dragnet, 2023’s The Accession is the last time the band surfaced with new work.

A lot can happen in two years; Twitter can become X for example. However, here’s a more relevant recounting of the last two years: “Dragnet Reigns!”

Since their accession in May of 2023, Dragnet has graced the Meredith Music Festival Amphitheatre, musically shook the hands of American representatives Uranium Club & Marbled Eye, while still finding time to fraternise with local stakeholders at such storied community events as Goomfest and the Coburg Night Market.

The band finally return with their aptly titled “Dragnet Reigns!”, 9 new songs for your playlist. Thematically, this album draws as heavily from the Cold War (real history event) as it does from 2000’s indie rock (genre of music), whilst tiptoeing around the post-punk & egg punk labels and trying to avoid the current Rock n Roll Resurgence. Does that make sense?

This record marks the final contributions of both Meaghan Weiley & Alicia Nolan, with both members moving on from the group.
Their stylish shoes have been filled by Lisa Rashleigh (Delivery, Soursob) & Kailey Dick moving forward. Meaghan & Alicia will forever be Dragnet members at heart, so please still include them in your prayers while also keeping room for the two newest additions to the group.
