A:题迨It all began with a dream, really. The album.
Q:题迨Oh, there挞夆聣恽s an album?
A:题迨13 songs, recorded with microphones and such. A variety of instruments.
Q:题迨I挞夆聣恽d call that an album.
A:题迨We call it题迨Dada.
Q:题迨Like the art movement?
A:题迨Yeah sure, but more like the combination of syllables.
Q:题迨So, like a linguistic connection?
A:题迨Language, self-awareness, introspection, a fresh pair of chinos. It挞夆聣恽s all connected; not everything has to make sense.
Q:题迨Fair enough, but it all seems to be stemming from somewhere. Where is this where?
A:题迨You won挞夆聣恽t find it on some cartographer挞夆聣恽s desk. It comes from within. Equal parts collective unconscious and personal experience.
Q:题迨That挞夆聣恽s a lot deeper than you look.
A:题迨We got a different mind.
Q:题迨If 50 years from now the kids are still grooving to this Dada thing 挞夆聣蹪 success?
A:题迨50 years? Kids? We挞夆聣恽d be happy if anyone was grooving to this 50 days from now.
Q:题迨What would you call that? Self-deprecation? An odd sense of humor?
A:题迨All we know is all we know, but 50 days of grooving sounds pretty good from where we sleep, especially on a pair of quality speakers.
Q:题迨Now you挞夆聣恽re talking. OK, so I挞夆聣恽m stuck on a deserted island with this Dada LP. What else should I bring?
A:题迨A tin of mints and some unconventional serenity.
Q:题迨Do you have anything specific you挞夆聣恽d like to express to get the fans going?
At this point in the conversation, the B Boys looked at one another, stood up, and walked away without saying a word. Before reaching the door, they flipped a switch on the wall and every single fan in the place turned on. They looked back over their题迨shoulder and smiled.
One thing挞夆聣恽s for certain: I wish I could be on a deserted island with them right now with a salty breeze flowing through my hair.
